About Us
Kip McGrath Rotorua has been up and running since 1992 and was one of the first centres to be established in New Zealand.
The Rotorua Centre is owned by Diane Black who also owns the Whakatane & Cairns Kip McGrath Centres. Kip McGrath provides an environment where the emphasis is on meeting individual needs, no matter how great or small they may be.
What We Do
The core programmes offered at Kip McGrath Rotorua are accelerated learning in mathematics, English, spelling and reading for year 1 to 10 students. In the first instance, students attend a free assessment in order to ascertain specific learning needs. After discussion with parents, students are set an individualised programme.
Students work in small groups with qualified, experienced teachers, who are committed to helping children improve. Programmes are continually monitored for maximum benefit to the students. Because the Kip McGrath programme aims to meet the needs of the individual student, a range of multi-media resources are used. Regular reassessments are carried out to gauge student progress.
Lesson duration is 80 minutes in which time tutors focus on areas highlighted in the initial assessment and address further areas as they aride.
The centre is also able to offer:
- pre-school programme
- high school mathematics, sciences and English
- study skills
- essay writing
- ESOL
- Intelligence Development programmes
