The Centre was opened in 1998 in a peaceful, rural, garden setting. Jean Wotton is the Director. She is a qualified trained primary school teacher, and a certified Irlen screener (identifying reading and perceptual difficulties.) She has done SPELD training and teaching.
PHILOSOPHY
- To provide assistance and support to enable each student to reach their potential.
- To help students develop effective learning skills and knowledge.
- To enable every student feels confident and successful.
HOW WE HELP EACH STUDENT
- By identifying and filling in learning gaps.
- Extending students learning skills and knowledge.
- Improving school results.
- Making learning fun and rewarding.
What We Do
WE PROVIDE:- A free initial assessment.
- An individual program based on the results of that assessment.
- Tutoring for students from year 1 to year 10.
- Sessions that are 80 minutes long.
- A variety of six interesting activites each session.
- English subjects - reading, spelling, comprehension, and writing skills.
- Basic facts, maths, and numeracy topics.
- Computers for each child, using programs developed using the latest educational technology.
- Worksheets, books, tapes, tutor system material, circuit boards, and other multi-media material.
- Homework based on skills taught at the Centre, is set and marked.
