About Us
The New Plymouth Kip McGrath Education Centre provides tuition to children in Taranaki, from Mokau in the North, to Stratford in the south and to Opunake on the Coast.
The Kip McGrath Education Centre in New Plymouth is situated Kings Building – Level One, 36 Devon Street West within the CBD. Parking is available on Devon Street. There are two parking buildings – Centre City and the Metro Plaza - provide parking alternatives. There are three “drop off” points close to the Centre.
OUR EDUCATION TEAM
The New Plymouth Kip McGrath Education Centre’s tutors are an exceptional team who provide caring support to all students – from those needing extra math tutoring to students wanting to push themselves a little harder with our extension programmes. All of the Centres tutors are fully qualified.

What We Do

Our Education Centre delivers the following individual programs for remedial and/or extension courses:
Primary School
- Math Tutoring
- Literacy for Learners (Reading, Spelling and Comprehension tuition)
Secondary
- Math Tutoring
- English Tutoring (Reading, Spelling and Comprehension tuition)
- Year 7 – 10 Other school subjects available on request
- Study Skills (Year 10 +)
- Essay Writing (Year 9+)
- NCEA subject tutoring
- Student Mentoring (subject choices, career planning, problems at school, time management etc)
- Parent Mentoring (What should my child be doing? How can I help my child)
Course Features and Benefits
- Free educational assessment for all new students.
- Students will experience a personalized learning approach that helps them thrive.
- Before school, during school and after school sessions. Saturday sessions on request. Each session is for 80 minutes.
- 80 minute sessions featuring a positive and fun learning environment.
- Homework set and marked with the exception of Year 11+ students.
- Computer assisted learning featuring the latest technology educational advancements as well as traditional book methods.
- Qualified and experienced teachers who are always happy to provide feedback. End of term Progress Reports for students up to and including Year 10.

Monday – Friday (inclusive)
3.30 – 4.50pm
5.00 – 6.20pm
6.30 – 7.50pm (Thursday only)
