About Us
Kip McGrath Darfield is a small owner-operated centre where students receive friendly, personalised one-to-one tuition from Mandy Johnston. Known as Mrs J to the hundreds of children who have passed through her classroom, Mandy guides her students through programmes designed to meet their individual needs. |

Classes are a maximum of four pupils with each person working on their own modern laptop computer.
Coming directly from many years successful teaching in local Malvern schools, Mandy understands the demands of today’s curriculum and is happy to work with parents and schools to ensure the best results for your child.
What We Do
Subjects taught are:
- Mathematics, including Numeracy as taught in the local schools, as well as “back to basics” table knowledge and number fact drills.
- Problem solving is an important aspect of the programme, where students learn to apply the strategies they are learning in different contexts.
- Literacy needs include comprehension, spelling, written expression, vocabulary building and reading, including a special software program designed to assist students with specific learning disabilities including dyslexia.
- Students are regularly assessed and results shared with students and parents.
